The Low Barns Volunteer Task Force
Langley Park Nature Reserve: Scrub Management
15th October 2008

In a break from routine we helped out at the Old Rec Nature Reserve in Langley Park. This reserve is recognised as a rare lowland heather area, all the more valuable given its urban location. Think of it as Hedleyhope Fell's Baby Brother. We began the tough but rewarding task of uncovering and restoring an old footpath that had become obscured by shrubs and weeds.
